Memorial Day Weekend

We all went over to Papa Hilton's and Grandma Donna's for a picnic and the kids enjoyed the waterslide and the small kiddie pool. Here are a few pictures of them having lots of fun playing in the water! Maleah stayed over night at the river the night before and she joined in on the fun later in the day.

Connor practices catching

Connor has been practicing his catching with this netting that Papa Hilton bought for him to help with his hand eye coordination. He likes playing catch with it and Connor and Daddy use it as a backstop when pitching.

First Grade Field Trip

Today the first graders took a field trip to Pittsburgh to see a stage performance, "Seussical the Musical". I was asked to be one of the many chaperones accompanying the students. Each adult had 4 students and I had a great group of kids! In addition to my son, I watched over Levi, Nellie, and Catlynn. We ate in the park and then we played on the playground before heading over to the Pittsburgh Playhouse. We really enjoyed the musical and wished we were closer to Pittsburgh so we could attend musicals on a regular basis. I haven't been on a school bus since highschool, and I can honestly say that I didn't miss the experience.

Happy Mother's Day

What a cold and windy Mother's Day. We saw snow flurries and it only reached 41 degrees. Not a very nice day for outside grilling like we normally do. This morning the kids allowed me to sleep until 8:30am. That's a record!! As usual, they had my morning coffee and some homemade cards ready and waiting for me when I finally get up. Hugs and kisses followed :) Since we weren't doing the traditional cookout, Brian took us to Red Lobster for our Mother's Day meal. Delicious as usual. Thank you kiddos and Brian for taking me to one of my favorite restaurants. I had a nice day with you guys!

Mother's Day Program

This afternoon 1st grade put on a program for their Mother's. It was filled with lots of singing, poem and story reading. The kids had a great time performing for us and Connor said they work on this for quite a while learning the words to the songs. After the program was over, they gave us a flower, a card and a Mother's portrait. Best of all, Connor got to leave school 1 hour earlier with me. :)

Wolf Run Trail

A new bike trail from Brockway to Dubois is being formed and groomed and we took our first family bike ride of the season on that trail today. We got the kids new bikes for Easter and wanted to try them out on this trail. This was Maleah's first bike ride and she did incredibly well. The trail is only 9 miles (round trip), very comfortable for an adult, but a lot for a 4 year old. She enjoyed the bike ride and we're looking forward to another family outing soon.
