Toothless Grin

Over a year ago, we attempted heroics to save her front tooth after she took a fall and hit her mouth/tooth on the driveway. The tooth became darker and sensitive to touch and you could see she was developing an abscess with this tooth. I got the tooth Xrayed and it confirmed that the tooth had to come out. No additional treatment could be done to save this tooth. Mom's heart was broke, but worse situations could happen. I keep telling myself, this is only a blimp in the radar screen. She will probably be without this front tooth until 1st grade. We'll just have to get use to seeing her toothless smile for awhile.

Autumn Greetings!

Today may be the first day of Autumn, but the weather is saying otherwise with the high of 83 and tomorrow is forecasted to be 86. The weekend will be more seasonable with temps in the mid 60's. This morning I tried and even succeeded for about 10 minutes, but at the last minute Connor decided to take his shorts off and put pants on for school. He says shorts are for girls.... I'll bet during and after recess he'll be wishing for shorts! We'll try again tomorrow.
As for the pretty flowers in the photo, that yellow marigold is the one he gave me at Mother's Day. Look at how pretty it became!

The Desk Fairy Visit

It's funny how a small slip of paper can bring the biggest smile to Connor's face. All of last year, Connor's desk was a war zone. I'd go in for classroom events and he had books crammed everywhere! It's no wonder he received an "Improvement Needed" in the Personally Organized category. I think getting this slip of paper will help keep him motivated and on track with organizational skills.
He's been in school for 3 weeks now and he says Mrs. Kepler is his favorite teacher by far. He is doing better with his behavior, only 1 yellow day which he was warned for talking when he shouldn't have been. I asked him what happened, and he said that he was asking other kids to quiet down. We are striving toward green "great" days this year with better listening. So far, he is doing very well and acing all of his spelling tests!
