Photos of Maleah

Well, my camera is going to be laid up for a few weeks while it gets its LCD monitor screen replaced. :( I had an accident with it today while taking pictures of Maleah. Luckily the camera still works and I can still take pitures looking through the view finder, but that's a real pain.

Here are the photos I was taking of Maleah today. I'd love to know what she was thinking about.

River kick off

We kicked off the river season this weekend. Going to the river has a bittersweet feel to it now. I miss my sister being there... I speak for us all. Here are some of the typical pictures we always see... Our weather was fantastic for this time of year. We had mid 70 temps, just perfect weather. We took Diesel down for the first time and he did so well, he's a natural in the water and listened very well to us. We will be taking him with us on future visits.

Maleah's hair

Maleah really needs her hair cut! I can't believe how it is really starting to grow. She is going to have so much natural wave in her hair. For now, I don't have a clue what to do with it. It's too thin to pull up into a ponytail and too fine to put a barrette in it. For now we are stuck.

Maleah and her babies

You can always find Maleah taking good care of her babies. She is so motherly to them. I come across her taking care of her baby after it "pooped". I just hoped she cleaned the babies face before she cleaned its butt. LOL




Later on, I found her giving her baby some medicine. I love watching her play with her babies. She is so gentle and caring with them. If uninterrupted, she will play for a half hour or more nurturing them.

Caught!

I don't know about you, but I don't find the humor in this like Brian did. Brian says it's just one of those boy things. Anyhow, I caught Connor peeing all over the back side of the house. He got his butt fanned and was sent to his bedroom. This is the second time he's done this to the siding. If you double click on the picture and take notice, he even peed on the meter box and below the drier vent. Why must boys pee on everything outside?

Kindergarten results

Connor received a letter from his elementary school letting us know how he did on his kindergarten testing. Looks like he is ready for school. I don't know if I'm ready to send him but the school thinks he's ready. Click on the photo to enlarge his results.

Monster strawberry

Can you say HUGE?

Look at the size of this chocolate covered strawberry. LOL It's the last one in the box and I had to show you the size of these things before they're gone.... I really enjoyed them this year. It's probably a good thing these are a special order item or I would be a 100 lbs. heavier. Keep them coming every year kids, keep them coming. ;-)

Connor's Craft

I forgot to post about this last week, so I better before it's too late.

Last Tuesday when taking Connor to daycare, we did the morning ritual,I took him into his room and helped him take off his jacket. I accidentally saw my Mother's Day craft that he was working on, but didn't let on to Connor. Unfortunately, Connor wasn't going to be there Wed, Thurs or Friday to bring it home. I mentioned to his teacher that today was the last day that Connor would be at Daycare so they wrapped up his craft in some tissue paper and put it into a gift bag for me. He couldn't wait for me to open it on Mother's Day, so I had to open his gift early last week.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the great ladies in our lives. The kids were very kind to me this morning. :-) The left me sleep in until 7:30am. Once Maleah starting yelling my name from her room Daddy and the kids came in with a card and a present for me to open. Inside the present were some huge chocolate covered strawberries, my favorite!

Later on in the afternoon, we went to Brian's moms house for BBQ chicken and then we rounded out the day visiting my Mom. Oh, I must not forget the icecream we got on the way home. The pictures below are Brian with his Mom and Me with my Mom. The last picture is me with my kids.

Flowers

Connor can really be a sweetheart sometimes. Without prompting, he picked some lilacs from our yard, put them in water and put them on my night stand. I love the glass that he choose as his vase. Every time I pass through my bedroom, these flowers put a smile on my face and a nice fragrance throughout the room. It's a great thing that lilac is my favorite fragrance. I just had to take a picture and share the moment.

Outside Play

It's been a while since we've had some nice warm 70 degree weather. Today was one of those nice days and I just happened to have the day off. Connor and Maleah played with chalk on the driveway and Maleah thouroughly enjoyed riding her new riding toy that Connor has outgrown.
