Church Program

Connor had his program at Bible School tonight where they sang for us and told us what they learned. Following the program, we had a bite to eat in the basement. When they got up on stage and sang, Connor and Ashton had to stand near each other. After they came down off stage, Ashton's Mom asked if Ashton could sit beside Connor. They were both all giggles and smiles. You call tell both of them really like each other.

I asked her Mom if they were in the same school district but they are not. They will only be able to see each other at daycare for the next few weeks before school starts. I am going to start taking the kids to the Roseville Church so Connor will be able to keep his friendship going with her.

I was surprised at who Connor knew. He knew Grace, Alaina, Evan, Alex and Ashton. They had 25 kids on average attend Bible School, so I hope some of those kids will ride his bus to school with him. Since we live on the border of 2 school districts, it seems as though all of his friends are falling toward Brookville. Darn!

Connor has a girlfriend

I've been hearing a lot about "Ashton", a little girl from his Daycare and Bible School. Connor told me today that she is now his girlfriend. From what I'm hearing, Ashton also likes Connor. Today Connor asked Ashton to marry him and she said yes! He kissed her on the hand and she kissed him on the cheek... How sweet. :) It must be serious, Connor told me that they shared his Chapstick at Bible School the other night.

Bible School

Wow, I haven't been doing very well with keeping up with my blog, have I? My last entry was July 3rd, I wish I could report that I've been away on some long vacation get away, but that's just not the case.

Although I can say I feel like I'm on a mini vacation this week. Connor is in Bible School Mon - Thur from 6:00 - 8:30pm and he is loving it. (I would have to agree with him, I'm loving him being there).

I tried to get Connor to go to Bible School last summer but he didn't want any parts of it so I geared him up for it this year and he thought he'd give it a try.

He came home last night saying that he really had a fun time and wanted to go back every night now. He couldn't believe that it was even open for us to go to on Sunday. Can you imagine that? ;-) I think this is a good time to get my kids into church and it probably wouldn't even hurt Mom and Dad to go too. :-)

Max's

Brian and I celebrated our birthdays in June but it took until today to get our schedules worked out to enjoy our birthday gift from Hilton and Donna. They wanted to take us to a Fine German Restaurant in Pittsburgh called Max's Allegheny Tavern WOW!!! The food was fantastic... Everyone of us really enjoyed our meal and we probably just knocked Penn Brewery down a knotch on the list of our favorite restaurants.

Anytime you want to go back to Max's, just let us know, we'll be right there with you. Thank you once again for our birthday lunch. It was well worth the wait :-)

The youngest and oldest Grandchild

These are my Mother and Father's youngest and oldest Grandchildren. Maleah will be 3 this fall and Brandon is 26. Brandon and his wife Michelle live in Florida and will be visiting with the family through Thursday of this week. On Sunday, while Brian and I went to eat at Max's Tavern, Connor and Maleah stayed at the river with everyone. Maleah would not warm up to Brandon no how! He said he tried all day but she wouldn't have anything to do with him. Finally, at the end of the day she made up with him just in time to leave.





This is Brandon and Michelle. We all will be sad to see them leave to go back home on Thursday.

Build it and Tear it Apart

I have no doubt in my mind what Connor will be someday. Here is my little engineer in progress. This Bionicle - Toa Ignika, has 140 tiny little pieces that has to be assembled, so daddy sat down for a half hour to put it together last night and what does Connor do today? He tears it ALL apart and has pieces scattered all over the floor. I saw all those scattered pieces and asked him why in the world would he tear that apart. He said, "I want to put it together". So he's spent the last 2 hours following the step by step instruction manual. I am completely amazed of his ability. Look at these photos.

He gets this ability from his Dad. When his Dad was his age, Brian would tear things apart just to see how they worked. Today, Brian can tear engines apart and rebuild them. I guess this shouldn't come as a surprise to me, but I still am amazed when Connor is doing this at 5 years old.
