Maleah's new bike

Maleah's free tricycle from a yard sale broke a few days ago so I told her I'd take her and buy her a new bike. She was peddling her tricycle well so I figured she was ready for a little bike, off we went to Walmart and she picked out a Disney Princess bike. I bought her an orange Dora helmet in March, we should have considered buying her a Dora bike but she really liked this princess one. She is having so much fun riding around the driveway and had become quite good at keeping it out of the grass. She has taken some spills on it, so it's a good thing she had her helmet on.

This past weekend we had wonderful weather. It was in the low 80's and really gave us a jump start to spring. All of last week I was off work. Tomorrow,(Tuesday) I start back. It was great having a Monday off and be beautiful.

Easter

At 2AM, I woke up remembering that I forgot to make up the kids Easter baskets. I had everything in the vehicle and was going to put it together as soon as the kids fell asleep but I feel asleep too and forgot all about their baskets. Brian got up at 5:30 and arranged the baskets and hid them. Maleah's was hid behind the couch and Connor's was in the oven. Connor has no problem at all finding his basket and of course Maleah didn't have the chance to look for hers because Connor found it for her. :)
The Easter bunny was good to the kids this year. In addition to their candy, Maleah got her very own Brazt Laptop that she absolutely loves! It's too advanced for her, but it's her own laptop and she feels like she's a big girl playing with it. Connor got Monster Jam for his DS and although it's hard, he is advancing along in the rounds. The kids consolidated all their candy into two baskets and I took a picture with their gifts. We spent the day at Grandma Shirley's and Papa Brad's house today. They got some chocolate bunny's for their treat. We had lunch with them and visited during the afternoon. It's been a long weekend and it's nice to get home and relax.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Quick picture of the kids coloring Easter eggs this morning. Connor was too busy playing a dinosaur game on the computer so Maleah got to put all the eggs into the dye. Connor wasn't too happy about that but he was given the chance. Once he realized what was going on, he quickly came in to watch the eggs turn colors.

Shortly after egg coloring, we went to Grandma Judy and Papa Bills house to visit and get their Easter goodies. The kids got candy and Connor got Bakugan trading cards and Maleah got some girly lotions. They were very happy with their gifts. After the visit, we went over to Grandma Donna's and Papa Hiltons. In their Easter baskets were bubbles, activity books, and they each got puzzles. In years past we had egg hunts outside, but this year was too cold (high 40's) so we had the hunt inside. The kids had a great time with that. Each egg had some money in it, so we will be buying treats later on with that. Donna had Easter dinner for the family and Jason was able to join us. Maleah is really warming up to Uncle Jason now. It's cute to see her coming out of her shell with him. Unfortunately, Jason will be heading out to California after college for his internship and won't be seeing his niece and nephew too often, maybe at holidays. They will miss him and so will we!

Crazy Bird

Connor, Maleah and I were playing in the living room when we heard the loudest thud hit the window. We knew it had to be a bird strike so we checked our sun room and sure enough, there was a knocked out bird on the patio. The kids watched it for the longest time, wondering if it was going to get up and fly away. It was knocked out for a good minute then it looked around for 10 minutes or so. It was intrigued in us as much as we were of it. Watching and waiting got the best of Connor, he had to go out and investigate the bird. He kept his distance from the bird while outside but then the bird took off to the apple tree. Connor followed wanting to throw sticks at it. I told him to get back to the house or that bird might poop on him... lol It took no time for him to come down when I told him that.

If anyone has any idea what type of bird this is, please let me know.

Maleah and Makeup

A note to myself - Don't leave Maleah unattended in the bathroom. She loves watching me put makeup on and feels she can do it on her own now. She's so funny at times.

Sorting through Papers

Connor brings home at least 5 or 6 papers a day and I just can't bring myself to throw any out, yet! They keep piling up in the corner of my bedroom and today I decided to go through and narrow down my keepers. I'm sure any mother can relate that it's so hard to throw out those papers that first year.
